We are seeking a dynamic and outgoing Market Sales Assistant to represent
Smokin’ Buttz Sauces & Rubs at farmers’ markets, pop-ups, craft fairs and market
shows. This position is perfect for a self-motivated individual with sales experience,
exceptional communication skills, and a passion for building relationships with
customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing market setups,
engaging with customers, driving sales, and fostering partnerships to help expand
our product presence.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
Represent the Smokin’ Buttz brand professionally at the farmers’ markets, pop-
ups, craft fairs, and market shows.
Set up and tear down displays including tent and tables etc. ensuring a clean and
engaging booth display.
Upsell bundles, specials, and promotions
Engage customers, provide product information, product samples and drive sales
through active communication.
Manage cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
Maintain inventory levels at market events and report on sales performance.
Develop and nurture partnerships with potential vendors and collaborators.
Provide feedback on customer preferences and market trends.
Assist with additional business development tasks as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Sales Experience: Minimum 2 years of customer service and sales experience.
Proven ability to drive sales and meet or exceed targets.
Reliable Transportation: Must have dependable transportation to travel to and
from market events.
Availability: Must be able to work weekend hours and possible other show
hours as needed.
Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and work in a fast-paced
environment.
Physically able to lift and move products and set up displays (up to 30 lbs.) and
the ability to deal with sometimes extreme heat during summer markets.
Familiarity with farmers’ markets or craft fairs is a plus.
Compensation is based on experience and the potential for commission based on
monthly sales. Must be able to pass a background check.
